Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our acoustic panels

About the Products

What does Stella Space Co sell? +

Premium acoustic slat wall panels, classic wall panels, baseboards, and slat wall accessories — designed for both DIY and professional interior projects.

What is the difference between PrimePulse and CorePulse? +

PrimePulse is our heavyweight line: 21mm total thickness with 9mm of high-density acoustic felt. CorePulse is our standard 9mm panel — slimmer profile, lighter on the wall, lighter on the wallet. If sound dampening is your priority, go PrimePulse. For the slat wall look without the deeper acoustic performance, CorePulse is the move.

What colors do you offer? +

Current finishes include Black Lead, Pecan, Sonoma Oak, Palomino, Sandgrau, and Chicago Concrete. Check individual product pages for live stock.

What sizes do the panels come in? +

Acoustic slat wall panels are 108" long (around 9 ft) and roughly 4.69" wide. Slat wall accessories (trim and end pieces) are 108x3.5". Baseboards are 96x5".

Are the panels real wood? +

The panels and slats are made of MDF wrapped in a high-performance decorative film that replicates wood and stone finishes. The backing is acoustic felt, providing sound absorption for acoustic slat wall panels.

Acoustic Performance

Do these panels actually soundproof a room? +

They reduce echo, reverberation, and reflected noise — which is what most people actually need. They are not a substitute for soundproofing a wall against outside noise, but they make rooms noticeably quieter, clearer, and more comfortable.

How much sound do they absorb? +

PrimePulse uses 9mm of triple-density acoustic felt — three times the industry-standard 3mm backing. That is a big jump in real-world absorption, especially in mid and high frequencies (voices, TV, music).

Where do these work best? +

Home theaters, podcast and recording spaces, offices, bedrooms, living rooms, restaurants, and any room where speech clarity or reduced echo matters.

Materials & Safety

Where are the panels made? +

Manufactured in Turkey on Italian machinery. MDF and felt are sourced locally in Turkey; the decorative film and adhesive are imported from Germany.

Are they fire-rated? +

Yes — Class E fire rating, which meets safety standards for residential use.

Are they safe around kids and pets? +

Yes. The materials are inert once installed. Just keep small fingers and claws away from the felt during install, since adhesives are wet.

Installation

Can I install these myself? +

Yes — they are designed for DIY. No contractors required. We provide a downloadable PDF guide and video instructions.

What do I need to install them? +

At minimum: a level, tape measure, pencil, and either construction adhesive (liquid nails work great) or screws/nails. A fine-tooth saw if you need to cut to length.

Glue or screws — which is better? +

Either works. Glue gives the cleanest look. Screws are more forgiving and easier to remove later. For maximum hold (or if you are hanging things on the panels), use both: zigzag bead of adhesive plus a few screws through the felt grooves.

How do I cut a panel? +

Cut across the slats with a fine-tooth handsaw or circular saw. For the felt backing between slats, a sharp utility knife slices clean through.

Can I install them over drywall? +

Yes. The wall just needs to be clean, dry, flat, and structurally sound. Fill any holes, sand smooth, and prime if possible.

Can I install them on concrete or brick? +

Yes, but you will want furring strips first to give the panels something to fasten into, or use a heavy-duty construction adhesive rated for masonry.

Do I need to leave a gap at the edges? +

Plan your layout so panels meet trim, ceiling, or baseboard cleanly. A small expansion gap (1/8" or so) is good practice on long runs.

How long does installation take? +

A single accent wall is typically a few hours for one person.

Shipping & Support

Where do you ship from? +

We are a Colorado company with inventory stocked in Longmont, CO. Most orders ship from there — no waiting weeks for overseas freight.

How fast will I get my order? +

Domestic orders ship quickly from our Colorado warehouse. Specific transit times depend on your location and the carrier — you will see an estimate at checkout.

Do you ship outside the US? +

Contact us before ordering if you are outside the continental US — we will work out shipping options and any duties.

What if my panel arrives damaged? +

Inspect your order on delivery. If anything is damaged, reach out within a few days with photos and we will make it right.

Care & Maintenance

How do I clean the panels? +

Light dusting with a soft cloth or a vacuum with a brush attachment. For deeper cleaning, lightly dampen a cloth — do not soak the felt.

Can I hang things on the panels? +

Light items, yes — small hooks anchored through the slats into the wall behind work fine. For anything heavy (shelves, TVs), anchor directly into the wall studs through the panel, not into the panel itself.

Orders & Returns

Can I get a sample before ordering? +

Reach out and we will point you to the best option for sampling the finish you are considering.

Can I order a custom size? +

Standard sizes ship from stock. For custom cuts or large project quantities, contact us directly to discuss.
